Filing for leave can often seem daunting, but with our straightforward tutorial, you'll find it to be a simple and efficient process. In this guide, we will walk you through the entire procedure of filing leave, from accessing the ESS module to submitting your request, ensuring you have all the necessary information at your fingertips.

How to Instructions

1. Access the ESS Module

Begin by navigating to the ESS module.

Then, click on Filings to proceed.

2. Initiate Leave Filing

Next, click the Create button.

From the Filing type drop-down menu, choose Leave.

3. Select Leave Details

Upon selection, leave details will appear in the Shift type drop-down.

Select Regular as this is typically the default option.

4. Choose Leave Type

To begin the filing process in the Leave type drop-down, select the leave type you wish to file. For example, you may choose Vacation leave.

5. Select Dates

Next, select the dates for your leave application.

You can choose a date range if the days are consecutive.

6. Filing for One Day

If you are filing for just one day, ensure to select the same date in both the Date From and Date To fields.

In this video example, we are filing for one day only.

7. Specify Leave Duration

In the Leave type drop-down, choose whether your filing is for a whole day or half day leave.

If you're filing for half day, an additional drop-down will appear for selection.

8. Half Day Filing Option

If applicable, select whether you are filing for the first half or second half of the day.

In this video example, we are filing for whole day leave only in the paid section.

9. Review Leave Setup

The options displayed depend on your leave setup.

If this section doesn't appear, it indicates that your setup only allows you to file for paid leave if you have available leave credits.

10. Choose Leave Type

In this video, you have the option to file either paid or unpaid leave.

For this example, we will proceed with filing for paid leave.

11. Confirm Paid Leave

Click yes to confirm your choice.

12. Add Reason and Documents

Next, add the reason for your leave application.

You may also upload any supporting documents if needed.

If not required, you may leave it blank.

13. Finalize Your Leave Request

Click the Add button to proceed.

14. Review Your Details

Once clicked, the details that you selected will appear in the section below.

15. Save Your Filing

After reviewing and confirming that all information is correct, click Save to complete the process.

16. Confirmation

A confirmation message will pop up.

Click yes to proceed.

17. Submission Complete

Once successful, click Confirm and that’s it!

Your leave has now been submitted and is pending for approval based on the established approval process.
